Rievaulx Abbey

Once one of the most powerful Cistercian monasteries, the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey, situated in a tranquil valley of the North York Moors, is now open to visitors to explore. The Lower Ure Conservation Trust

The Lower Ure Conservation Trust was established in 1997 to help conserve the biodiversity of species and their habitats. The trust is based at and runs Nosterfield Nature Reserve (more details below) and in recent years has become the first site in North Yorkshire where avocets have bred and provides optimum breeding habitats for the lapwing.

Nosterfield Nature Reserve
